We are displaying our new model LTM 1250-5.1 crane
Ajay Kumar Somani, Director - Mobile Crane Division, Liebherr India Pvt Ltd, shares his thoughts on the current industry and his plans at Bauma Conexpo India 2016.
The current equipment industry scenario is quite different. During last bC India, the market was going through a crisis. The requirements were on decline and sale had dropped considerably. This year, the situation is much better. The requirements are higher and crane rental is on boom, specially due to surge in wind mill industry. However, we have a different challenge due to Chinese companies getting very aggressive, reducing their prices and also offering long term finance. India being a highly price conscious market and does not have preference for high quality products, the situation is getting tougher. Neither the user nor the service provider care for proven quality and safety.

At Bauma
We are displaying our new mobile crane model LTM 1250-5.1, which is a 300 ton class crane. This crane is displayed with three special features: VaroBase, Eco Mode and Single Engine. Vario Base gives an option to rig the crane with individual outrigger extended as per space available at site and crane software calculating crane capacity in each direction as per outrigger extension in that direction. It also allows crane to have more capacity over outrigger direction with less counterweight. This will be a big feature as it will allow crane to work in congested areas with best capacities.

Expectations
We expect a good number of prospective customers as the venue is easier to approach. Slowly, bC India is getting popular and more and more visitors are arriving. We expect that we will be able to convince people about our technology superiority.

Looking forward
We will observe reaction of customers very carefullyand see whether they are ready to pay for equipment considering technological superiority.
