Our crawler cranes are loaded with safety features
Action Construction Equipment (ACE) offers customers all the options in crawler cranes like the standard machine for lifting and erection jobs or with features of single/double-line free fall for usage in the piling activity. Manoj Agarwal, CGM-Marketing & Product Support, Action Construction Equipment, shares more.

What are the major applications of crawler cranes?
Crawler cranes are put to use in various applications across different industries. These include:

For lifting heavy loads and for erection jobs across power plants, cement plants, fertilisers plants, refineries, ports, yards, etc

Construction and infrastructure projects like the metro, roads and bridges construction and for pipe laying jobs.

Piling and foundation job is another segment where the crawler cranes are extensively used due to its free fall feature.

Which segments drive the demand for crawler cranes?
Major sectors which would spurt the demand include power transmission, bridge constructions, metro and prestigious harbour link projects, etc.

How do you look at the application trends in medium and heavy-duty crawler cranes? Which are your latest products in crawler cranes? What are the applications?
Currently, we offer the 40T and the 75T capacity crawler cranes which we intend to take it up to 160T in the near future. Our crawler cranes are new generation hydraulic machines capable of lifting heavy loads in restricted areas with enhanced safety features and hydraulically extendable/retractable tracks enabling ease in transportation and usage. We offer customers all the options like the standard machine for lifting and erection jobs or with features of single/double-line free fall for usage in the piling activity.

What are the safety features associated with your range of crawler cranes?
Our crawler cranes are loaded with safety features which includes safe load indicator with overload cut-off function; counter balance valves; hoisting limiters provided on main hoist, boom hoist and auxiliary hoist; boom angle indicator; level sensor; mechanical drum locking system for all the hoist; mechanical swing lock; tri-colour audio-visual external safe load indicator; audio slew alarm and safety brakes on hoist.

What are the major changes taking place in technology?
We have designed the chassis and the boom in-house with our own engineering capability. We would be using boom assembly made out of high-strength steel with optimised shape which would drastically reduce its self weight, yet enhance the lifting capability of the overall machine. Integration of best-in-class driveline along with the top notch hydraulics and in-house designed structures with high factor of safety and boom assembly make our cranes standout from others. This is a great example of "Make in India" initiative by the Government of India.

What are the key market opportunities?
The demand for crawler cranes has shown signs of improvement in the last few months. With the budget allocation of $2 trillion in the transport infrastructure, we feel that the demand for crawler cranes will soar in the next few months. Major sectors which would spurt the demand include power and transmission, bridge constructions, metro and prestigious harbour link projects, etc.
