Henkel Adhesive Technologies offers adhesives, sealants and functional coatings for consumers, craftsmen, building, and industrial application. The company has introduced Loctite 4090, an instant structural adhesive for industrial assembly. It employs a new hybrid technology that offers epoxy properties such as high impact resistance and gap filling. It also has advantages of cyanoacrylate technology for instant bonding and substrate versatility. Loctite 4090 is moisture resistance at 65oC during 95 per cent relative humidity conditions. It offers gap filling of up to 5 mm, high temperature, and heat resistance of up to 150oC. The product has fast fixing properties (for example, within 3-5 min at a temperature of 5oC). The electric motors and component markets can benefit from this technology. Loctite 4090 should be refrigerated in a temperature range between 2 and 8oC. The shelf-life of the product is 12 months.
