Henkel Adhesives Technologies India announced the unveiling of its new production facility in Kurkumbh, near Pune. With a total investment of about EUR 50 million (Rs 4 billion), the company aims to serve the growing demand of Indian industries for high-performance solutions in adhesives, sealants and surface treatment products. The Henkel Kurkumbh manufacturing site was formally inaugurated in the presence of several dignitaries including <span style="font-weight: bold;">Dr Jnrgen Morhard, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany</span> in Mumbai and <span style="font-weight: bold;">Dr P Anbalagan, CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).</span><p></p><p>This manufacturing facility site admeasures 100,000 sqm and has a built-up area of 51,000 sqm and is India's largest adhesive manufacturing facility. It will further increase Henkel's capabilities to serve customers across markets including flexible packaging, automotive, agriculture and construction equipment, general industry and metals. </p><p>&quot;India is one of the most important emerging markets with tremendous growth opportunities for our adhesives business,&quot; opined <span style="font-weight: bold;">Jan-Dirk Auris, Member of the Management Board and Executive Vice President, Adhesive Technologies business unit, Henkel AG &amp; Co KGaA.</span> </p><p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Shilip Kumar, President, Henkel India</span> said, &quot;We will continue to invest in local manufacturing, as it gives our Adhesive Technologies business in India a strategic advantage. The Kurkumbh manufacturing site is an important milestone of Henkel's journey in India. </p><p></p>
