Construction company Pembinaan Nescaya is using SDLG G9138 and G9190 motor graders to build a 11.4 km road that will provide access to the new Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex in the state of Johor. <br /><br />A RM120 million ($29.5 million) road project that will increase the accessibility of the new Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) is currently undergoing earthworks, where 40-ton dump trucks plough haul roads on the site daily while transporting material.<br /><br />To ensure earthworks continue uninterrupted, the contractor, Pembinaan Nescaya, has deployed two SDLG motor graders, a G9138 and a G9190, to repair and smoothen the well-worn haul roads and ensure their serviceability. Working a single shift of 10 hours daily, these motor graders will transit into actual construction of the four-lane road when earthworks conclude in March 2018.<br /><br />With the SDLG graders' low total cost of ownership, Tee You Ann, a project manager at Pembinaan Nescaya, said project costs can be kept low, thereby maximising profits.'What we like about the SDLG motor graders is that they have fewer electronic parts and are, therefore, easier and cheaper to operate and maintain,' Tee said.<br /><br />The pair of SDLG motor graders were bought separately last year. The purchase of the G9138 almost a year ago was particularly significant. The unit became the company's first motor grader in its fleet of more than 80 machines, comprising dump trucks, compactors, backhoe loaders, back pushers, excavators, and mobile crushers. Impressed by the G9138's performance, Pembinaan Nescaya bought the G9190 a few months later.<br /><br />'Before we bought these SDLG motor graders, we were renting a unit of another brand,' said Tee. 'But the G9138 was highly productive and reliable, so we purchased our own unit, and that led to our later purchase of the larger G9190 unit.'<br /><br />The G9138 motor grader has an overall working weight of 12,000 kg. It features a fully-digital instrument panel that offers the operator precise control and electronic monitoring. The integrated panel also offers straightforward inspection and maintenance. Powered by a Weichai Deutz WP6G140E22 engine, the G9138 can reach maximum forward and backward speeds of 34 km/h and 28 km/h.<br /><br />The larger G9190 features a 3.658 m mouldboard for wider grade coverage, and is powered by a DDE BF6M1013 EC engine. The low-noise engine is matched to the grader's electro-hydraulic transmission control system, allowing the operator to select the correct gear, depending on load, for optimum efficiency and power. The blade can rotate through a full 360° and incline up to a 90° gradient. It is operated via the Moveable Blade Control System for excellent grading precision.<br /><br />The company's success with SDLG motor graders has given it confidence to try other SDLG machines. Now, Tee said it is considering the purchase of an SDLG L956F wheel loader.<br /><br />'We are currently renting a SDLG L956F wheel loader. If we buy a new unit, we plan to use it in a sand mining project in Pahang,' Tee said.<br /><br />The company has been working with its local <span style="font-weight: bold;">SDLG dealer, Tan Chong Industrial Machinery, </span>whose informative salesmen and extensive service network in Malaysia have been crucial in convincing the company to invest in SDLG machines, Tee said.<br />Pembinaan Nescaya is a construction company with over 30 years of history.
