Committed to Energy Efficiency
ExxonMobil participated as a technical partner at Confederation of Indian Industry?s (CII) third edition of multi-city workshops and technical discussions on ?Enhanced Energy Efficiency in Industrial Lubrication?.

ExxonMobil Lubricants participated as a technical partner at Confederation of Indian Industry?s (CII) third edition of workshops with industry associations and technical discussions with Accredited Energy Auditors across multi-cities. The initiative reinforces ExxonMobil and CII?s commitment to create awareness on the significance of Energy Efficiency in industrial lubrication across industry verticals.

On the sidelines of the workshops and technical discussions, CII launched the updated version of the report on ?Enhanced Energy Efficiency in Industrial Lubrication? incorporating the feedback received from the multi-city workshops conducted in 2015.

This year?s edition of the report lays emphasis on the technical know-how of energy efficient lubricants and their corresponding benefits by centring on the four parameters to demonstrate energy efficiency through real time case studies.

ExxonMobil contributed their field case studies to support this:

  • Reduction in electrical energy consumption
  • Reduction in lube oil consumption
  • Variation in operating temperature
  • Productivity improvement

Four regional workshops organised in Chennai, Pune, Vadodara and New Delhi were with industry associations like Tamil Nadu Plastic Manufacturers Association (TAPMA), Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCIA), and Badli Industrial Estate Association. The core objective of the workshops was to create awareness around the importance of energy efficient lubricants and was also attended by key equipment builders and industry stakeholders.

Speaking at the workshop in New Delhi, Dr Suprotim Ganguly, CEO, Global Innovation & Technology Alliance and Head Energy (Technology), Confederation of Indian Industry, said, ?It has been a great journey in the past three years under the guidance of policy making governmental organisations like PCRA, BEE and NITI Aayog. I am happy to state that CII may take this initiative forward to create a mandate for industrial lubrication in the next phase of activity in association and technical support from important stakeholders like ExxonMobil.?

Imtiaz Ahmed, Asia Pacific Mobil SHC Brand Manager at ExxonMobil added, ?With the current macro trends such as Make in India, aligning energy efficiency has become imperative part of business? core objectives across industries. In our third year of partnership with CII, we believe we are moving in a positive direction towards our long term objective of creating awareness on technologically advanced lubricants and its benefits. We?ve also been given an opportunity to share data of real-time case studies which establish the role of energy efficient industrial lubricants in achieving advanced productivity across industries. We look forward to continue working with industry bodies in creating an environment conducive to the overall evolution of the industrial sector, thus contributing to its long term benefit.?

The four technical discussions with Accredited Energy Auditors were held in Kolkata, Delhi, Vadodara and Hyderabad. The discussions primarily focused on providing a detailed overview on the role of lubricants in enabling energy efficiency and evaluation protocol to achieve the same across industries. ExxonMobil shared the technical expertise on implementing energy efficiency trials on potential industrial equipment.
