UMEX 2014, the three-day event for used machinery sector, was held on 4-6 September 2014 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This leading business event was co-located with five other trade exhibitions to cover the entire gamut of industry sector thus creating a complete business platform of minerals, metals, heavy machinery and engineering.

The other events included - MMMM, an international exhibition on mineral, metals, metallurgy and materials; IMEX, an exhibition on machine tools and engineering products; Tech India, an exhibition on manufacturing and production; CWE, an exhibition on cutting and welding equipment; and Mega Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Summit, a conference on Indian MSMEs.

Organised by the International Trade and Exhibitions India (ITEI), UMEX is the only exhibition catering to used machinery segment in Asia. Leading luminaries of the industry and senior government officials visited the exhibition. This complete business platform was attended by ministers from the Central Government including Santosh Gangwar, Minister of Textiles; Gen VK Singh, Minister of State (IC), Development of North Eastern Region; and Kalraj Mishra, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. This complete business platform had 350 exhibitors from 21 countries and was attended by 8,564 visitors from 18 countries.

The exhibition focused on industry sectors of metals, textiles, construction, printing, etc, besides other industry sectors. This unique platform has successfully created a consistent channel of communication to the members of this industry to come together under one roof and share their knowledge and expertise with fellow members from the industry to take part in discussions on the latest products and technology, market trends, policies, codes and standards and challenges faced by the industry today.
