Low Headroom Rigs from MAIT
Breakthrough technology
MAIT has launched a new line of drilling rigs called Low Headroom Rigs (LHR). These rigs provide the high torque required for drilling big diameter bores with a short mast. The engines used on these rigs are confirming to the latest emission norms.

Differentiator
The high torque available with short mast makes them the ideal machine for working under the roof or even under electrical transmission lines.

Such jobs like working under electrical transmission lines otherwise need to be done by traditional ways like tripods that takes a much longer time to complete the job.

Areas of design changes
The mast height is reduced to less than half than normal rig (8 to 9 m instead of standard size of 17 to 21m) with a telescopic kelly bar, shorter pulldown cylinder.

There is a kit available to convert the rigs to original or standard size, therefore it can also be utilised for normal jobs after the conversion.

Specific application
The rigs are specially developed for working under existing industrial sheds, existing bridges/ flyovers, electrical transmission lines or any other such structures where height is a constraint.

The advantage with LHR rigs is they have high torque which is required for drilling big diameter bores and in hard strata.

By using these rigs, the work is done much faster, which otherwise if done using smaller rigs, would take many days.
